There are long conference tables that everyone sits at. There is a microphone in front of everyone, and a video camera at each ICN Meeting site. When someone is talking the camera pans to that speaker and everyone at all the sites can see and hear what the speaker has to say.
Please don’t let the video camera and mic intimidate you. You don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to. There are usually one or two people who stand out as a spokesperson for the group.
But if you have something to say, please say it! Don’t worry about writing a speech if you don’t have the time to do so. If nothing else just say you either support the NRC proposals, or you ask that they denied the proposed changes.
The most important thing is that we get some good numbers of concerned deer hunters at these conferences.
Once again, I encourage everyone to try and attend these meetings this evening.
Write down before hand what you want to say. If you don't do that you will probably forget important points. Try to be well spoken and don't bitch. Be passionate with your words and say what you want to say but be smart about it. If someone else from another site brings up the same concerns, still insist on speaking. The more they hear us the more weight it carry's. Don't just go and sit there and listen to everyone else. Why even go if that's the case. BE HEARD. The deerhunters need to take over the meeting
I've been told by a friend who has attended previous ICN meetings, that it's better not to ask a ?? If you do the DNR takes the ball and runs with it, using up as much time as possible!
Sounds like it's better to make a statement rather then ask them why...we already know why
