That were part of a pack found around the body of a man killed in northern Saskatchewan last week. They're not sure if wolves killed him but the autopsy confirmed some animal did. Makes a guy a little bit more leary when he comes across the tracks of a wolf or 2 back in the bush.

That's funny because my neighbour claims she saw a lion while smokepole hunting this fall. I don't doubt it, as we do have a confirmed population here that seems to be growing.

There have been a few confirmed kills of mountain lions in Iowa and evidence of a growing population, but it's not anything I'm concerned about. I figure they have plenty of natural prey. I would definitely like to see one. The only thing that would make me shoot one would be in self defense.

One was hit by a car just outside of Omaha last week. Decent size male. They're here to stay that's for sure. As long as they prefer deer over human I'm okay with that!

Are your bears all denned up? I would assume they are. If so it sounds like the wolves are the likely culprit. It is rare for wolves to kill humans but it does happen. It will be very interesting to hear how this turns out. Please keep us informed of any updates.
