Yep.
Few days ago, a bluejay crashed into my back window and killed itself.
I threw it back in the woods bout 30 yards away.
An hour ago, I seen a doe fawn coming and it stopped, head went down and started pawing. Didn't know what it was pawing for so grabbed my binos.
It was pawing/ mouthing the bird.
Next 1/2 hour I watched it peal off the feathers and chew on it. Used her hooves to stand on the wings while plucking it with her teeth.
I'm guessing she ate about 1/2 the bird before walking away.
She sure made some weird facial gestures while doing this.
Few years ago, I watched a doe and fawn chew on a red squirrel I plinked off the bird feeder.
So yes, deer DO eat meat.
