Double Bull Blind Question

sureshot

The Hunt Never Ends....
This year i'm going to try bowhunting for turkeys. I bought a double bull blind, and I was wondering if the turkeys would see it if you just set it up in the middle of a field? I have never bowhunted for turkeys, so i'm basically a beginner in all aspects of it.

Thanks for your time,

Chris,

Last year I shot my turkey in the middle of a cow pasture with no wooded cover close by. It was a known favorite strutt area for several gobblers.

I have set up in deep timber, field edges, and right out in the middle of a field. Keep your decoys in tight! You can get away with a lot more with turkeys than you can with deer.

The main thing to remember is to set up where to turkeys want to be which you will learn from pre-season scouting trips.

Good luck and give a big one the shaft!

I have set up on a terrace of a corn field or the middle of a pasture like Ghost with no cover for a couple of hundred yards and had them close enough to put an arrow in them. If you set up in the area they want to strut, you will have it made.
Good luck!

Not much more I can add really. Try not to skyline yourself but if it's an area that birds are used to going to it's always worth a shot setting up there.

Thanks for all of the input guys. I really appreciate all of the answers! Hopefully it'll all come together this year!

The one thing that I learned last season was to only keep one window open at a time. Wearing black is a bonus also. Oh yeah, if you go outside your blind to pee.......take your bow with you!!!!!!
