Dove Bill Passes Senate

I like the birds, like their call. I grew up shooting rabbits and squirrels. My dad raised beagles. Since then I have narrowed my killing to deer. You get enough meals from them to make it worth while. Love the meat. Still not real keen on taking their life. Someday I may just use a camera. I know it is in the Grand Scheme of things to hunt. But for me,I figure nature has been tortured, shot, poisoned, harassed enough ,by humans, without me adding to it. But I am dead set against these crazy Animal Rights Wacos. Like the "Humane Society". So for that reason, since they are against Dove being Hunted. I am for it.

What?

its called wildlife management, without human intervention there is FAR more unnecessary suffering. Dove hunting offers a great opportunity for our youth and future of Iowa's outdoors....

just sayin....

House passes dove bill

I was listening to the debate on the dove bill and it pass on a voice vote. Congratulations, I'm sure there will be some kind of court challenge but we should be shooting doves by this fall. (if branstad signs it like he said he would)

was listening online and heard the same thing!

The fight is far from over, but we are making ground! Keep it going guys!

What you say is true. Nature suffers under a curse of Sin,,also caused by humans,,if you believe the Bible. Herbivores, being eaten alive by carnivores, has alot of suffering involved. Something the Animal Rights people never seem to address. But personally,,I just don't want to be doing any extra killing. Just eat deer, and I try to end their lives as quickly as possible.

hahaha, dude, I am a God fearing man, (imperfect however) but no where in the good book is this a curse of sin?! In fact if I remember correctly God gave Adam dominion over all the beasts on the land and fish in the sea...

Don't want to turn this thread into a debate, so I'll refrain from further comment in that regard.

:way:

The Earth was cursed, because of Man's sin. God took the life of the first animal to cover Man's sin. Man did not eat meat until the days of Noah. Then The command was given to eat animals as food and the fear of man would be in all life. Read Genesis. Don't want this to become a Religious site, but is what the Good Book says. The taking of life, to give life,,is a reminder to us that, something has to die, for somehting else to live. Hence the command to the Children of Israel, for all their animal sacrifices. Each time I harvest a deer, I am reminded GOD had to send an ultimate sacrfice to die for me. Why hunting is a spiritual experience,,for me anyway.

Been along time coming. They are a blast to hunt and IA is full of them. For those who have never hunted them I highly recommend it, good way to start the season off in Sept. and they will really improve your shooting.
