DPMS vs Remington

Been thinking of getting at AR style rifle in .308 sometime. Just looking to get peoples thoughts on the brands out there. I know one company purchased bushmaster, remington, and dpms so I can't imagine there would be a huge difference between them. Thoughts?

DPMS and Rock River Arms AR's; Tackdrivers. These rifles will out shoot most bolt actions. I have a DPMS LR .308. I special ordered it with an optional JP adjustable trigger, stainless fluted bbl, and dust cover. I also have a Rock River Arms .223 Varmint EOP 24"with a Stainless bbl, and it is also top notch quality. When I bought my RRA, they didn't offer a .308, but they do now. No experience with any others, but anything these 2 companies put out, I would buy again. Lindys Guns in Boone turned me onto to these 2 companies, as lots of cops buy them, and he is their dealer, and mine too. Great guy to deal with.

This is the one I like, very accurate. :D

Remington’s new AR-15-style rifles R-15 VTR. :way:

DPMS makes all the rifles for Remington that are based on the AR10 platform and Bushmaster makes all their AR15 rifles. Remmy doesnt make any AR rifles, they just camo them and re-badge them.

I have a RRA .223. I was told that if I wanted to buy a .308 to buy a DPMS. Both are great companies as stated before.

i like armalites ar 10. my bushmaster 223 is top notch. at this point, theyre all good, its just like buyin a new bow, just find the one you like the most.

FWIW, Rock River Arms gets my vote for AR's in the .223 platform. I have 3 so far and all of them have produced repeatable sub-MOA groups. The 16" lightweight barrel tossing 60 gr Vmax's is my favorite and has taken 10 yotes and 2 Reds so far this year. My 20" RRA set up for spot + stalk has taken one of each using the same bullet. Long live the AR15!
