This saturday in Burlington, Iowa, theres a duck and goose calling contest at the Pzazz. Which is a part of Funcity. Theres contest for adults and kids. Also a big raffle. I think im going to show up and watch the show. Is there anyone here thats going to be attending or competing in the contest?

Will be up there Saturday! Those guys make it look and sound easy. Every once in a while I think about giving the state duck competition a try, but then I remember how easy it is to sit back and enjoy a cold beverage and watch instead. Going to try and make it out of there without buying another duck call that I don't need.
 
Steve...dropped my beautiful children off to their (XXXXXXX!) mother at the Fort Madison hospital tonight after work.

There were literally thousands and thousands of geese feeding in the picked corn North of the hospital.

You should take the kids and check it out this weekend...

I was thinking of Limb Chicken in a lay out blind when I drove by...he has about that many decoys! Ha /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
 
Those guys do make it look easy, but I will tell you from experience, when you get on stage, all the lights shining on you, thousand people looking at you, you can lock up and not make sound. Never been in a duck calling competition, but a turkey calling competition, and I locked up for about 20 seconds.
 
Theres geese in several of the fields around the hospital. Last year i hunted a stand on my buddies land along highway 61 north of fort madison. I have film of geese flying around this 8 point buck. The buck was running in circles he was FREAKING OUT! The geese were swooping towards him. It was great. I couldnt stop laughing.
 
Field hunting for geese is something I think I could really get hooked on. Luckily for me all of these geese aren't around in the Fall.

It will sound like about a thousand geese in the vendor area at the competition. Good lord those goose callers are loud!
