My dad and I made a scouting trip to Winneshiek County on Wednesday morning and man, were the turkeys out in full force! In all, we saw 30 different gobblers and probably close to 100 hens. Something we didn't expect to see, however was any breeding activity. I happened to have the video camera along and captured some footage of a gobbler breeding a hen. As the lucky tom was finishing up another gobbler with the bunch came charging in and about knocked him off of her - quite the sight! Overall, the birds were still pretty grouped up but things are starting to happen, apparently.
Has anyone else seen any signs of breeding activity yet?
