Early muzzleloader season

All the tags for early season are going fast. There are only 200 tags left. I usually go late, but I think alot more people are going early this year. Who all out their has changed their strategy this year besides me, and why.
 
I changed my mind. I hunted EM last 2yrs, with moderate luck. Couple reasons for me I have done more research on muzzleloader loads and I'm very excited to shoot something with my TC. Nother reason guy I hunt with will be gone that opening weekend which means him and his boy will not be in one of our prime spots. Also gambling on the time frame the crops are coming out! I have noticed alot of activity in the few fields that have been harvested, rather it be beans, corn, alphalpha and even a crp that was mowed. I also got the urge when I noticed only 136 tags left this evening. I had hoped to hunt one or two days of archery and make the decision then.
 
I hear ya Bocephus, Good luck, I want to see some pictures with your new gun next to a booner this season. I shot a 163" buck during the 2001 late season, and have not been able to put one on the wall since. I hope the youth hunters leave us a few decent bucks. So far I know of 4 youth deer taken over 150 in marion county. I hope this year the early season's the ticket.

I am glad they sold out, that means there will be alot less guys roaming the public land late season

Liv, don't count your chicks before they hatch. I haven't bought my early muzzle license yet.

I'm pretty sure Early ML has been selling out for quite a few years, but this year does seem a little quicker than in the past. I would guess the rule change allowing you to go Early ML and still pick up a doe tag to party hunt shotgun has and will continue to add extra demand for this season.
Count me in as one of the 7500 hoping for a good early season this year.

They sold out about 5 days earlier this year. They have sold out for the last several years so it probably won't have too much impact on how many people hunt during the other seasons..
