Easton Archery.. FMJ arrows??

Dennis,
Also check out the Gold Tip pros I have been fishing for an arrow to stick with for quite some time. I haved used a lot of different arrows in the last six years and this year I used the Gold Tip Pro 75/95 and I will not be switching anytime soon. I love them, straight, consistant weight and are plenty heavy.

BTW if anyone is interested I have 10 easton axis with white blazers on them and a tracer nock that I would let go if anyone is interested. 29 inch 400's, black. The tracer nock has never been opened.

Matt,

What kinds of issues have you had with other arrows?... durability, consistency, straightness, etc??

Have you had trouble with the Axis series by Easton?

Thanks, Dennis .... aka Technological Greenhorn

The straightest most consistant arrow I have shot other than the Gold Tip Pro are the easton A/C/C's. I really liked them however I shot a turkey last year with them and they bent...wasn't happy. Bought the axis because I liked the concept, slim, made me think better penetration. Weight inconsistancies and two that had straightness issues that have been disposed of... So I had heard all the hype on the GTPros so I thought I would give them a try. Weight was right on, they came out of my bow great and the buck I shot this year was through the shoulder with a JakHammer and the deer went down on and through a dry creek bed fell on the arrow and never broke it. Shot a doe this year that did the same thing and same result. That is just two examples but I am a believer. I am shooting 29 inches at 72lbs...

Limb,

What is the weight of your 29" Axis arrows? I've been considering picking up some of them this year. Sounds like I'll need to consider the GTs too!

I'm currently using ICS camo hunters by Beman, which are plenty heavy (465 gr including 100 gr BH) for whitetails, but I like those pass throughs. I would like to pick up a little more speed while still maintaing plenty of KE.

Thanks,
Phantom

What exactly are the tracer nocks? You got my attention with those good looking arrows!

Phantom,
With a 100 grn broadhead you are looking a total arrow weight of just short of 400 grns (393 to be exact). Which should be plenty when combined with sufficient.

FireDog... Here ya go...

tracer nock

Arrows are still available. However they no longer have the wraps, I got them out a couple of nights ago and realized I had taken them off

Thanks for the info Limb. I think I'll check out the GT Pro as they have tighter tolerances. I'm looking to drop some arrow weight (to around 400) to take advantage of the Switchback's speed! Should help with the 3d scores as well.
