eBay issues?

Sorry it's off topic, but I gotta ask...

My wife thought it would be a good idea to sign up for an eBay account a couple months ago and it seems that every other day someone is trying to hack into our account, send us something we didn't order, etc etc etc... This results in dozens of "warning" emails from a billino different eBay accounts each day. It's been nothing but a headache and if we ever receive the one stupid thing she HAD to have then the account is getting terminated. Has anyone else had similar chitty experiences with eBay?

I have an E-bay account and only rarely get an email at times I may bid on an item. I would contact them about the problem. I haven't used mine much but I know a lot of folks use thiers all the time without any problems.
Sounds you have a mess though!

I agree with dbltree... something isn't right there... I run two different accounts on eBay, and I have never had a problem in my store account or my personal account. Contact eBay immediately about any false claims or sales that involve your account, their security measures are pretty tight, so this shouldn't be happening. If you maintain a paypal account, use that for every purchase and sale.. that way, you have no other account #'s to worry about. Also BIG piece of advice here... OPEN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT bank account that you list with paypal... utilize that bank account ONLY for your eBay and paypal accounts... and keep the balance less than $100... as soon as you receive payment in paypal, and transfer into that account... pull it out! That way you will have no issues and very minimal risk when it comes to the money side of things... If you need any more help or advice on eBay I would be glad to help you... I have found it to be a great way to supplement my hunting and fishing obsessive spending!

Something isn't right for sure. My wife is an eBay Power Seller.

I have bought and sold over 170 items on ebay. We both have our own separte accounts and we have never had the problems you are asking about.

GOOD LUCK!

I've never had a problem either in 5 yrs, something sounds fishy, I'd contact them as well. Good Luck.

There are 2 email addresses to have when you get an Ebay account. When you get a stupid email asking you to verify your account information such as your password & etc., do NOT reply to the email but forward it to either or both of these addresses. You will get a reply from Ebay or PayPal usualy in a couple hours.

spoof@ebay.com

spoof@paypal.com

When you buy something on Ebay or use your PayPal account you alert the crooks out there trying to get at your money. Be careful because some of these fake emails look very real.

I have never had an eBay or PayPal account and I get all kinds of spam that looks like it is coming from eBay and PayPal saying that my account has been hacked and I need to enter in my account information immediately. Since I have never had accounts, I know it is Phishing and thus delete it. The Phishing looks real, as when you click on the eBay/PayPal link in the message, it takes you to a website that looks exactly like eBay/PayPal. This would drive me CRAZY if I had accounts.

muddy, don't let that stuff spook you, some very good deals on archery stuff, fishing stuff, etc can be had on ebay. Just remember one thing, if the email has a link to click on then it's bogus. It's harmless to click on the link but if you enter your name and password then the scammers have it.

A buddy that I work with found out that someone was racking up charges on his credit card. Turns out that he replied to one of the spam e-mail that said he needed to verify his account information. Just best never to reply to any e-mail that you get from e-bay or even a seller, too much fraud out there.
