Salutations Hunters: I was down on my land last week and noticed how really few good saplings and young trees there were for bucks to rub on. Most have branches all the way to the ground, whereas deer seem to like nice smooth trunks to rub on. So I took to cutting limbs off some good looking rub trees to encourage bucks in the area to use them. Anyone ever do this? Sounds crazy maybe,, but is similar to making mock rubs and scrapes, and licking branches. Anyone have success with your own scrapes? I have heard mixed ideas on this practice.
