Entering the Stand

Trying to make this the least confusing, I only have one way to enter my stand. Park on the gravel road and walk north through the picked cornfield an and my stand is on the edge of the timber that butts up to the corn field. The part I am having trouble with is spooking deer when I'm getting out of my stand at night. I had 2 bucks in the field (no size) still at 9:30 and I was freezing and ready to get out of the stand lol. And of course they spooked off. Is there any other options that I have to get out without spooking deer? Obviously those of you reading don't now what the property looks like, was just curious for any ideas. Please and thanks

I have a stand that is pretty much the same way. I carry a rattle bag that I chuck out into the field when I need to spook them off the field. Wait till one gets close enough to scare but not to close to the tree. When it runs it usually takes the rest of the deer with it.

Either wait in the stand until the disperse or buy a stealth helicopter. I wish i could think of a better way but I haven't found one yet.

Have a buddy drive a vehicle out there to pick you up if possible. Or, at least drive out there and run them off so you can walk out.

Unless I want to take a 3 mile hike through the timber there isn't another way unfortunately. And that would be stupid to do anyways. I like the idea of throwing something, not a half bad idea.

It sounds dumb and you will feel even dumber doing it, but that's your best chance to throw out the best howls you can muster. It works! I've done it. The deer look around like what the heck and trot off. Its worth a shot.

I have done the same thing. I try to sound like a dog. Just try to direct the noise behind you into the woods. Depending on what caliber of deer you are after, I dont recommend huntong that often

Sorry. What I mean is you dont want to overhunt the spot and make the deer think that dogs or coyotes are on em all the time. Then they will smell your boots and figure you out anyway. I hunt a similar spot as well but I try to stay out until late October so I have a decent chance of killing a good buck the first time in there.

good suggestions, was wondering this same question myself. last year had 7 doe and fawn i couldn't get rid of. made all the weird noises i could and they wouldn't leave. they were right under my stand and around me, i just got sick of it and climbed down after 30 minutes!

Well ill practice my howls then! Thanks for the advice everyone. Lots of good advice that i have taken from this site and it has really helped me grow as a rookie bow hunter. Only my second year but i can honestly say this stuff reallyl helps! Good thing going here!

If possible, this is your best bet
