Favorite 3d courses

Land of the Whitetail
Anyone here really enjoy 3d courses? I didnt make it out to as many as I hoped to this year. I really like them and get sort of competitive with myself, I'm not that good though. 3d's about done for the year. I'm just wondering if anyone has one they really reccomend or their favoirte course to try and hit up next year. I enjoy just seeing the other archers and their bows, seeing the county plates of the vehicles too. But what I really enjoy besides the shoot itself is the layout and landscape of the shoots. I enjoy them all. Anyone have any that is their favorite or they would really recommend going to?

I've been to:

Mid-Iowa Archers. Go early in the day, this one always seems packed. The first 20 shots of the course arn't to exciting but the last 10 are cool crisscrossing a ravine. Feels cramped with how many people there always are and how close all the shots are, probalby the smallest course in acerage. The Izzak Walton League building they use is fun and I do enjoy the atmosphere of the people there the most I think.

Hickory Ridge. Fun course, can get busy, neat being right by Lake Red Rock.

South Central Iowa Bowhunters. I went to just one there in 2015. I like the course a lot, had a neat shot at a grass carp in the pond that was on a pull rope. Not sure if the shoot is around anymore as this was on someones private property and I saw the property for sale on Whitetail Properties earlier this year.

Wapello Cheifs Bowmen. Seems like a really big club. Really neat course, entirely all timber if I remember right. A lot of people there when I went, but didnt seem to get backed up.

Poweshiek County Sportsmans. Really spreadout and quite a bit of walking. Has some really neat shots including one on top of big rock you climb up. Does not seem to get a whole lot of attedance so you can move though it fairly quickly.

Mahaska County Sportsmans. Nice course, spread out well, seems like lowe attendance so you can move through it well. I enjoy it.

Racoon River Archery by Stuart. Lots of targets, 80 I belive, maybe more. I only did the front course. Has a bluff shot where you shoot across the river to a target on the other side with an arrow you pay $1 for and the winner wins a prize. Also a running deer shot, its a target on a zipline, I havent done it yet though. Fun course and really neat clubhouse that use to be an old schoolhouse with lots of mounts/racks and trailcam photos from the property owner. I believe it is all privately owned. You can shoot here year round too.

Echo valley archers put on a great indoor during the winter, and their R100 course is top notch. The R100 has a north American side and an African side. They also have some awesome novelty shoots that's you can partake in after you shoot the course. Best one I've been to hands down.

Shot the Black Hawk Archers shoot this weekend! Awesome course with a good bunch of guys. Course was a little hilly but made for some nice shots. Lots of people but we had very little wait time.

Mid Iowa Archers - My favorite. Always a good time. Drinks and snacks available on the course. Decent food served in clubhouse. They have made a lot of improvements the last couple of years, new towers, bridges, etc.

South Central - Not bad but signing was lacking, several times we had to walk around looking for where the next target was. Mosquitos were horrible, even with deet on. Never seen them like this at any other course. No clubhouse.

Raccoon River - Love that you can go shoot whenever you want. Makes this course always an option. Lot of up and down terrain for varied shots. Heard that the Bluff shot is no longer due to flooding but haven't been there this year.

Wapello - Only shot the R100's there so may not reflect a normal shoot. Lots of acres to shoot. Decent clubhouse. Very muddy path down a steep hill to shoot if it rains. Did not do a good job of having food or drinks available on course during R100s, that may be different at a regular shoot.
