Hi Everyone,
Tonight while driving around I saw what I thought was unusual. I saw 9 different does all with triplets in about 20 minute driving radius. I couldn't believe it. Everywhere I went there would be a huge doe with triplets behind her. Every doe I saw had at least 2 fawns with them throughout the night. It was rather odd to me. The funniest one was one field had two mature does about 20 yards apart and each one had triplets right by their side. 2 does and 6 fawns is something else. I was just wondering what you guys are noticing. And no, I didn't circle the block 9 times and see the same doe with triplets 9 times
I tried to come up with a theory and the only thing I have noticed about this area is they give out very few doe tags for, in my opinion, the number of deer I see out and about and it seems that there is a very high quantity of huge mature does. Half the time the truck comes to a screeching halt thinking I have a big buck out in the field and half the time its a huge doe. Maybe there is just more mature does up here because there isn't as many tags therefore more triplets. Who knows though, I am just rambling now. I am up in floyd and Mitchell County. :way:
