Deer Nut

I'm sure i'm not the only late muzzleloader hunter in Iowa about to pee his pants in anticipation of this big snowstorm! Remember last year? It was 52 degrees on January 10th... THIS is the weather I have been waiting for! :drink2:

I remember last year, I am planning on a half day of vacation Friday to make it a longer hunting weekend!!!!!

Time to get the sled out of the garage rafters to pull the deer out - power of positive thinking

Went out tonight figuring that they would be moving to get some food before the front moves in. I saw nothing. Kind of strange.

Soooooo pumped for this weather! Went out tonight and nothing moved until about 20 minutes before dark. Saw 18 total, no shooters. Ready for snow!

Been waiting all season for our first snow!!!!, suppose to hit here on thrusday morning - the 45 mile per hour winds , kind of stink, but I have that morning off and will be out with the bow, snuggled in a one of the blinds , Trying to figure out if I want to sit the brassica's or what is left of the standing bean's, I will be able to check the camera's on both of these area's tomorrow , so hopefully those card pull's help me figure out where I will be sitting.
Best of luck to everyone!

this will be the first year in over 20 years that one of our farms was not touched during shotgun season. one sit with a bow bit we decided to leave the deer completely alone until late season. the bedding is there. the food is there. according to the cameras there are about 35-40 deer hammering the plots. one of them will break 200" pretty easy. I've never killed a buck with my muzzeloader but if it comes to that I will not hesitate. I still have a bowtag burning a hole in my pocket. And a late muzzy tag. to say that I'm excited would be an understatement. I wish everybody the best of luck

Tomorrow evening when the precip starts will be the best time to hunt the front. Wish I didn't have to work.....

I have had great luck the day after a storm like this one. I will be out plenty early Friday afternoon.

My mom shot a good one tonight. Had a bunch of deer hit the fields around 430. The old man got it all on video. Deer hit the dirt and got back up a lil later and stumbled off. Marked some blood and we're headin back in the morning to find him.

Weve got a gimped buck up there hanging out in 1 specific draw that Im gunna try and track down in the morning and get a barnes into. Could be a productive morning

Reports and hopefully some pictures tomorrow

H****llll Yeeeeeaaaaahhhh SHEP!!! Cut that B up!! ;) Goodluck guys. Pretty sad I am looking forward to snow blowing ahhh the joys of being tagged out lol.

I'll be out Friday night if we truly get the snow that they say we are. I shot a deer pretty early in the late muzzy season last year and am hoping to find a nice doe to fill the freezer.

I will be hunting all day tomorrow..sitting from 630 til 930...then walking straight into the wind..afternoon..walking til 300..then sitting over a cut cornfield....just hoping EHD, Blue Tongue, and the Orange Army didn't get my 2 remaining target bucks..
