Below are the first three food plots I have ever been involved with. I have been working with a landowner who wanted to put in some plots on a very nice piece of ground. He had plots on it some years ago but not lately and I expressed an interest in assisting with the work in exchange for an opportunity to hunt some. I have enjoyed the work and I must say it is nice to see some green come up after the hot work.
Plot 1 - Alfa-Rack clover planted Labor Day weekend - looks a little thin but will come along nicely by Nov. :way:
Plot 2 - oats planted about mid-August. this plot also has some hay ground around it before reaching a smaller corn field
Plot 3 - more oats planted about mid-August. This is an inlet between two fingers off a timber flat
If you don't own your own ground it sure is nice to hook up with someone who lets you assist and enjoy this aspect of the sport.
I apologize for the large photos.
