This is a clear muskie and I was glad to get a close look at him.

Sweet pic!!!! Those big girls gotta start somewhere just like those booners start with spots. One way to go on the muskies ironwood, and that is up. Great picture though!!

Looks for all the world like a hammer-handle northern pike to me. What make syou think it is a muskie?
 
Don't want to belabor the point but that is a northern with a rather unusual pattern of spots but a northern none the less. Muskies have more pointed fins which appear more red, especially as they get bigger.

I like to go to the boundary waters to fish for northerns, i haven't ever caught a muskie though. Wonder if they are as fun catching as carp?

I cant tell from the pics, I'm just waiting for him to fess up and tell everyone that Mrs. Wood is the one who really caught it! LOL
 
OK she caught it. Mrs. will be bow hunting this fall as well so you can question all of the harvert photos I may post.
