I've talked to a few different taxidermists lately and they say that years with no snow are their best years.
Snow means you can see the deer better but the deer can also see you better. You always hear of hunters going in one side of the timber and the deer bailing out the other before any drives start. I also think a lot more people are out hunting on those years.
