First time Ice fishing

My best friend (we’ve been friends for 55 yrs) arranged an ice fishing trip departing Dec 26. We hit the road at 4:30 am for the long drive. We get to the lake with enough time to drop a line, I hooked a slab crappie in the first ten minutes.

Second day, I catch a 5 lb Northern, my biggest ever as I don’t fish for them much. Later, friend

and I fought over a perch we both hooked.

Fishing was slow but it was a blast. I got spoiled using a Garmin GLS10, can’t imagine fishing without one.

1 hour west of my place !! Good lake !

Our group caught perch, crappie, bluegill, striped bass and northern, quite the mix. I cooked beer battered fish and fried potatoes for the group Tuesday night.

I've heard big stone has some big perch in it. Nothing better than. Fish through the ice to eat.

That is getting spoiled using a livescope, ha. Hardwater season is almost half the year here. If there's anywhere near you that has stocked trout, I'd highly recommend checking it out.
