Fish Batter

I really can't recall if this was already discussed or not but, does anyone have a good thick fish batter recipe? I'm looking for the kinda batter that Long John Silvers has, something with that consistency. It'll be used on catfish. If you have any other good catfish recipe pleasse fill me in.

Blackened!!! Usually when I go for the thick batter it is a beer batter. I've made a few but have had just as much luck buying a premixed bag from a local grocery store and just adding a few ingredients to it.

"Shore Lunch" brand batter is the best I've ever had. I mix 2/3 of the original with 1/3 of the cajun. Really good stuff!! If you want a thicker batter, just add some Busch Light to it.

1 part corn meal, 1 part bisquick, one part fry magic... awesome!

This is how we do Pike in Canada

-1 pkg of shorelunch
-1 egg
-enough beer to make the consistancy right (about 1 can)
-Fry in peanut oil at about 350-370 degrees untill golden brown
-serve with Western Dressing (this sounds crazy and i thought so myself the first time but it's great)
