fletching arrows?

Who here fletches their own arrows? I have an Arizona easy fletch 1degree straight that I used on my old arrows but on my new carbons I want a right helical fletch. I was looking at getting a new fletcher and debating between the Bitzenburger and Jo-Jan, anyone familiar with either of these and what do you think about them? I know the Jo-Jan is cheaper, that is what is nice about it, looks about the same otherwise? What glue works the best on Carbon Express arrows and how do you clean carbon arrows to prep the for fletching? Thanks for the help

Cheaper will generally bite you in the hind end in the long run. I use a Bitzenburger and have NEVER regretted the extra $$$ spent. That's what student loans are for, screw books.

I use a Bitzenburger also.....worth the extra money. I use AAE fastset gel on my blazer vanes, and always have a wrap underneath them. I have yet to have a vane come off without it ripping the wrap off also.

Thanks guys, I'll have to pick one up with the new arrows!! Hey muddy, I took all my books back this sememster and I am putting the money to a new Switchback XT!!! lol!!! Who needs books seriously?

I turned out pretty much sorta fine without using books... if you can't borrow them from someone in class then you don't need them.

Hey, I know a guy who got all his teeth pulled and was scheduled to get new ones, when on the way to have them fitted he stopped by the bow shop. Lets just say he decided a new Mathews Outback was more important than new teeth!

He's still got the Outback, and he still doesn't have any teeth!

At least he has his priorities straight. LOL

The advice above is sound. Spending a little bit more now to get the Bitzenburger is a wise move. You've grandkids will thank you for it because they'll still be using that jig. Fletching is really easy. There's plenty on there about it and it you run into a problem, just ask. I figured how to do my own fletching in about one evening. It only gets easier each time you do it.
