Food plot day

ibohunt65

Professional food plotter
I spent Saturday with my habitat team planting 2 acres of fall food plots in 4 locations. I sprayed the fields about 4 weeks ago and disked Saturday morning.

The equipment :

We followed the same process with each field. We harrowed, I then spread a mixture of rye, oats, and winter wheat. Harrowed again. We then rolled the field with the cultipacker. I then spread a mixture of ladino and alsike clover and we rolled a second time.

My team and one of the finished fields.

Another field completed.

It then rained one inch on Sunday night. I think it should do well. What do you guys think?

Did you use a tractor disc or one pulled by a 4 wheeler? The ground looks very "clean", residue free.

Looks like you should be on track for some great hunting this fall.

I have an old oliver 1855 and a 14ft disc that I used. Makes for quick work. I did mow and spray with round up several weeks before.

You know there hasn't been a decent tractor made since they quit makin Olivers?

1855 is plenty big for food plots.

I think Muddy wore that John Deere shirt to the Shed Fest just to bug me.
