Freshening scrapes...

I suspect there could be good movement tomorrow as a lot of Iowa got some rain today and over the past couple of days and I know the scrapes were BONE DRY several days ago. Get some good moisture on those scrapes and the bucks seem to drop their guard getting around to them and refreshing them.

Sitting down wind of a good scrape and being ready for some soft grunting on the ol' grunt call could be a winner tomorrow AM.

Good luck out there!!

You sir hit the nail on the head! I freshened up a few on food plot edges midday and will be watching from the blind in the AM! Good luck to all

I was thinking the same thing. The two active scrapes I have been watching where freshened up under the cover of darkness long before I set up on them. Oh well maybe next time.

I had one freshened while I just got settled into my oak tree. Big mature buck that I could only see after getting the binos out. It was so windy neither of us could hear one another!

According to my cameras, they were sure at it last night. Finished up right about the time I was headed out of the driveway! :(
Soon enough, though....soon enough!

What stinks is I left my RAVPower card reader home so I couldn't see what made them. I won't be able to check them until November 3 cause next week I will be hunting at my friends place in SE Iowa. The scrape I sat by the size of it increased by three times what it was yesterday. The other one 60 yds away the same thing. I put a camera on that one after my sit.

Checked a couple cameras yesterday. One was on an annual scrape. Had a little activity, but not as much as I had hoped for. Checked a mock scrape that I had made a few weeks ago (peed in, but no scent dripper), and it looked to have a little activity (no camera on this one), but there was another real scrape under the same tree about 3 feet away (camera is now on it). Also saw another real scrape opened up within the past few weeks in that same area.
