When have you guys find the best time to frost I’m in southern Iowa . Or is it more of a timing thing with weather?
Late February or early march. When snow isn’t deep & I like some bare soil if possible. When have you guys find the best time to frost I’m in southern Iowa . Or is it more of a timing thing with weather?
Ok thanks, seed cost isn’t cheap so want to do it right.Late February or early march. When snow isn’t deep & I like some bare soil if possible.
In my mind, it is ideal to broadcast over about an inch of melting snow. It makes it real easy to see where you have been, via both your boot tracks and the sown seed. But bare ground is fine too, aim for the days where it is "greasy" by day, but freezing a little crust at night. Perfecto.Late February or early march.
