I want to buy a game camera, one that has popular features and easy to use. anyone have any suggestions? also, besides a scrape, where is a good place to place one?

a friend likes his trail timer, salt licks are a good place to get photos before fall as long as their are no cattle around.
I would like to pick up a homebrew camera if somebody could help me pick one.

A friend tried several last year and finally settled on the buckshot. He ordered from Cabela's and kept sending them back till he got a brand he liked.

We tend to put ours a long main trail and in feeding areas this time of year. But as soon as scrapes start to show up we get them on scrapes. You'll get a higher percentage of buck pictures that way. I don't like putting out salt other feed that would not be natural.

While they can be a great tool be careful once hunting season starts. I don't think the camera scares deer off put running into your favorite spot every couple days to check film might. Treat it like your hunting and be careful about leaving too much scent around.
