Gobbling Report

I just wanted to start a post so that people could report what they heard in the mornings, or what they are seeing.

I was out Sunday, and saw lots of birds strutting, gobbling around noon yet...it was just awesome out

i was down in SE Iowa just east of bloomfield and heard quite a few gobbles in the morning. i talked to a guy who was seeing them bunching up with 1 strutter in the group of 21 of about 50-50 hens and toms so i dont know if this helps but that is what is happening in my part of the state.

I saw a big group of birds about 10 am today. There were 3 big toms in full dress . Got my heart pumping. Cant wait!!

I know last weekend they were sounding pretty fired up. They were gobblin crazy on the roost and right after they flew down. Saw a few strutters as well. But, for the most part, they toms shut up after they flew down in the mornings. It's still early yet.

Saw three mature strutters together this morning with 3 other toms and about 15-20 hens, still bunched up pretty good but I assume by next weekend they will begin to break up. I am gonna go for an early morning run this week sometime to hear some screams.

I heard 3 gobblers going at it the other afternoon. Then on sunday, I was shed hunting and snuck up to a alfalfa field edge and there was 7 hens and 1 gobbler out there. I gobbled with my mouth, which sounded horrible and he perked up and faced my way. I then yelped with my mouth, which sounded better, but still bad and that old boss went into full strut and just stood there looking. Needless to say, I am pumped

Sunday morning while scouting we had a gobbler hammering from 6:30 until 8:30.

Gets the blood pumping!

I seen one tom yesterday all puffed up follwing one hen. Looks like the winter groups are braking up.

Went out early Sat. Morn and had multiple Birds gobbling, ended up seeing 5-6 jakes and 2 toms all strutting. Luckily this place is near my house and I have been watching these birds every day for over a week.

they ought to be just choking themselves on a clear morning any where in the state!!!!

Has anyone been out and heard what time they are starting to gobble on the roost?

I heard the first gobble at 6:25am Saturday the 24th.
