I was just at Owatonnas Sunday. No sales, bargain room sucked, and no predator or open pattern camos on the floor. No wonder I spend $$ right here with local vendors instead of Cabelas. Cabelas sucks IMO. Ever since they got rid of the outlet center in Owatonna the store has sucked. I was just driving by on my bike and hoped that there might be some great deal. WRONG!! Sportsman Warehouse, Central IA Archery, Jax, and Buck Hollow Sports have a better selection and better prices. My 2 cents

Why am I not surprised that a comment like this came from you.

Most of those places you listed are either way over priced or have people in the dept that just want to sell you stuff and they might give you a 10% discount on accessories if you buy a bow from them. That means they are over priced already if they can give you a discount. Never made since to me.

Cabelas does have knowledgable people in most of the dept. You do have to search for them at times. I cant believe you went to cabelas looking for a bargain. Do you go to the other stores that you mentioned looking for the same? If you want it, buy if not, dont it is that easy.

I do all big shopping at Cabelas, there price are worth the drive most of the time. Jax on the other hand are alittle pricey for me. I like to go there and kill time, and if I need something right away I will get it there. Cabelas always has what I need. Sportsmans is also a great place if looking at guns or ammo. but other than that i would still drive to Cabelas. Shceelds in Des Monies or Cedar Falls I avoid. They no nothing about guns and there way over priced.

Heck no. I was just kidding. Next time you come up, drive up and over about 45/50 min! The fridge always has some cold ones in it!! Bring your bow and we'll shoot.

Being a local IA businessman myself, I try to buy as much as possible locally. How much are you saving if you value your time(6 hour drive round trip for me to Cabelas) and $3.00 a gallon gas. My friends work at these stores and I would rather help them keep their jobs than give it to some Out of state sporting goods store that RUNS ADS IN OUR LOCAL PAPERS TRYING TO BUY UP ALL OF OUR TIMBERS and LEASE UP OUR TIMBERS....Yea, you all forgot about that.

Why am I not surprised you had to quote me and make some disagreeing comment as usual. It would be easier to put me on an ignore list and that way you could save yourself some typing.

At least two of the stores he said are sponsors of this great site ( CIA & Buck Hollow)which I will always give first shot at my business.

Oh I cant put you on my ignore list, because I like the humor and the contradictory comments that are made. Just too funny.

All I got is time my friend, plenty of time to respond to your comments

Cause I am sure if Cabelas offered to be a sponsor of your Video, you would turn them down wouldn't you?

Save the 6 hr drive and $3/gallon gas and pay for the shipping or pay Blaster a few extra bucks and have him pick it up for ya

Either I am supporting the local guy who can lease or buy out from under me or a out of stater that can do the same. It is a loose, loose, for those of us anyway. If you dont own the patent to it you are supporting someone, it is the way the world works.

Honestly Cabelas prices are pretty high unless you find some closeout or super sidewalk sale on something. Buck Hollow sells DB blinds and many other products cheaper than Cabelas. Central IA archery has very reasonable prices, as well as Sportsmans Warehouse. Jax is a little high on some stuff but so his $3.00 gas and my time is valuable. When Cabelas went public with their stock, the deals went away and advertising to buy up or lease our timbers soured me.
BTW, I never contradict myself. I don't sugercoat my opinion and never contradict. I stand for my beliefs and I don't worry about being politically correct. Take it or leave it.

I used to shop at Cabelas alot since there is one 20 minutes from my house. But now that Bass Pro opened 5 minutes from my house, Cabela's is just too far!

I have to agree with Hardcore for the most part. I have been buying less and less gear from Cabela's the last few years due to their prices not being as good. Our local archery shop will meet or beat Cabela's prices so why would I drive 2.5 hours for no savings. The only time I go to cabela's is if I need to try something on that my local shop would have to special order for me or if Cabela's sends me a coupon card for cash savings. I will also order from Cabela's if I have some Cabela's points racked up. Today I recieved my Cabela's fall preview catalog and I didn't see one piece of preditor camo in the entire issue. They may have some in the fall master catalog when it comes out but I'll just have to wait and see. I have also gotten really poor service the last three times I have driven to shop at Cabela's. The staff didn't seem as knowledgeable and I had trouble finding people to help me locate stuff. The store just seemed understaffed for the number of shoppers that were there. I still like Cabela's but just don't do as much business with them as I use to. I have also been buying more of my gear online if the local shops don't carry it.
