Good Boots

Don't waste your money on electric socks... my experience is that you cannot even tell if they are working, as they don't put out enough heat to justify the expense... better off getting some good rubber boots, wool socks with neoprene outer sock or something as an extra layer. Those heater packs aren't bad, and at least they're cheap

You want to make sure that you feet aren't "Too Warm" Sweat is a major cause of cold feet. I would be leary about neopreme as it doesn't breath well. With polly and wool or wool blends moisture is sucked away from your foot and the gortex in your boot is able to disipate it. I know that my expereince is that the heater packs actually make my feet colder because they cause me to sweat. If you have a long hike to your stand you may want to pack an extra pair of socks with you to change into when you hit your stand. I ussually change socks in the afternoon before taking a night stand. Hope this helps. I also mentoned muklucks. i have worn steiger muklucks in -30F with no socks and my feet were toasty. Good luck.
