Well after some terrible youth season weather here in IN and a rough opening morning, I was finally able to put my boy on his 4th bird.
The morning started pretty quiet but birds started moving into the field we were set up on about 8:30. First hen showed up and started yapping and it wasnt long before more started to enter the field. It took about an hour for a gobbler to step out - about 250 yds from the setup and he immediately went to the 3 real ladies that were in the field about 150yds away. After and hour or so of watching them - Ryder says dad 4 red heads right here. I peak my head to the right and 4 Jake’s were on a string to the decoys. I asked him if he wanted to hold out for a Tom and he said nope I am killing 1 of those! I chuckled and said got it.
I got the camera and and started to film and got some pretty decent action.

Finally when he couldn’t take it any more, he was literally shaking so bad I thought for sure there was gonna be a whifff, he let the 12ga bark and game over

Moment of impact
Some high fives and one happy kid, and proud dad! We decided to go for a walk afterwards and check some shroom spots and picked about 5lbs and stumbled on 2 sheds too. Great day in the woods for sure!
Congrats little Kratz!
