ground or tree

Hey guys,

Gotta question for all of you. Do you do the majority of your bowhunting from the ground or tree???

I'm a treestand man, Lone Wolf hang-on to be exact!!!

25-30 feet high minimum for me if I have a choice. I did set my DB blind out a few weeks ago so I can take my daughter with me.

First time bow hunter, I will be swinging through the trees like Tarzan going after Jane

The tree is the place for me

Ask firedog how high my "sucide" (he named it) stand was. Never ground hunted with my bow but going to try it this year

Both. Mostly trees while bowhunting,

I'm not real crazy about heights...but do what I must to get it done!

That being said, my 3 largest bucks (2 gun and 1 bow) ALL were taken from the ground...so WHY do I scare the hell outta myself in trees??

(Why am I typing/talking to myself?? I think need a cookie....sugar must be low!)

I'd have never killed the buck I got this year from the ground, that big old spruce played a major part in that buck.
With that said, my previous 4 bucks all came from the ground so which is best I can't say. I can say where I feel more safe, not 30 feet up a tree in the middle of nowhere!!

20+ feet up for me always

I don't like sitting on the ground mainly because I can't see as well and I feel alot safer in a tree. Hunting mostly public you never know when a bullet might be flying about chest high in the woods

I'd have to say that I spend 70 percent of my time in the tree. The rest of the time I am stalking deer. It is good to try some stalking because you end up learning the ground better and see things you may not be able to see from the treestand. I found a secret place where the deer were using an old dried up drainage ditch to move from the public ground to my private property.

It's all about "diversifying your portfolio"

Seems like the older I get, the more I like standing on the ground.

All though I probably still spend 80% in the tree.
