Hawkeye Flatheads

Caught these beauts in the Iowa River right in front of Hancher Auditorium in good ol' Iowa City. Yup, I'm the idiot who forgot to take the ear muffs off. What can I say, I was driving the boat and the generator is louder than hell!

Anyway, this fish was roughly 25-30 pounds, the one we shocked up today was twice that big. Unfortunately the big dog wouldn't fit in the net and by the time I ran to the front of the boat to wrestle him in the two netters lost him.

speaking of legs....what's with the state issued DOT Safety Orange shorts? You moonlighting as a sign flipper?

Ghost - Sunblock is good. Since I'm usually wearing waders all summer you'll have to bear with me

Pudd - Safety first, you never know when that hunter orange may come in handy.

Skully - No, we don't keep any fish that we shock. Being a state employee I wouldn't have a job very long if we did that.

Besides, I love those big flatheads too much to put a knife to 'em.

JustHunt87 - This is what we use to shock them.

Rudd:

Those are actually Iowa Department of Corrections shorts that Muddy "liberated" when he got paroled.
