Nice one:way:

Not busting your balls just sharing information.

For antlered deer, attach the Transportation Tag on the main beam between two points as shown in the illustration.

I'm new to this site, and marvel at the great bucks on here and the informative posts. I have a good sense of humor and I couldn't help but notice in the picture a mathews bow with hoyt on the quiver. That's worth a smile! Safe hunting everyone, good luck the rest of the season.

If they (DNR) want to worry that much as to where they want us to put our tag on the antler, maybe they need more important things to do!

It could slip off the end of the antler and get lost or guys could slip it off and on using it for more than one deer.

Not a big deal just giving you a heads up. Just something everyone should know.

Awesome buck Bearcat Congrats to you. You are so right, the tag placement looks to be a total of 2 inches off. Big deal. Anyway, nice deer.

Chilli, good eyes! :). I would love to have a Mathews quiver but can't justify the $100 for it when all I do is take it off my bow when in the tree and hang it up! Anyone wanting to donate to the "Buy Bearcat a Mathews Quiver Fund" let me know! :)

Go with a alpine soft-loc $40 and better than the Mathews quiver IMO. :)

He can take the tag off since it has been transported to his house.

Really? I thought it had to stay with it till it is processed for consumption. Does anyone read the regs?

Iowa DNR regs pg.29 said:
This tag shall be proof of possession and remain affixed to the carcass until the animal is processed for consumption. The head, and antlers if any, shall remain attached to the deer while being transported from the place where taken to the processor or com- mercial preservation facility or until the deer has been processed for consumption.

Sorry I even brought it up and distracted from your very nice deer Bearcat.

Maybe the story would bring it back around? :)
