Help! Poached!!

I would appreciate any information concerning a buck poached late last week (around August 29-30th) in Southern Warren County.

The buzzards led us to this buck without his head on the morning of Friday August 31st.

Shot quartering to the shooter (likely looking into light) along a wide open and fairly well traveled gravel road.

Significant $500 reward for information that leads to guilty party.

Why do idiots have to ruin things for the rest of us? If you can't get yourself a buck legally, you shouldn't be hunting at all.
 
That sucks!!! Good luck on catching them and I hope they get what they have coming. What a bunch of LOSERS!!!!

Cause whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be stopping anything! Anyone have any statistics on the annual number of deer poached? Is it going down or up?

There is a "maximum" penalty but they never give it. It always seems to be too little I think. Really aggravates me.

i spose you have know idea which buck it would be do you?? i know its a long shot. I just thought maybe ud have an idea. we could keep an eye out for certain antlers

Im with Gundog on this one, have any trail cam pictures of this guy and any identifiable markings so we know what to look for.

Was sleeping in my camper last saturday night and was awakened by 2 gunshots at about 2:30am. Didnt know what it was at first then I heard a 3rd shot.Got dressed and jumped in the truck to see if I could find any body but nothing. This was by Canton,IA. Figure a couple drunks left the local tavern and went out shooting.
 
ridiculous is the only word for that, what compels people to do this kinda of stuff, there is no glory or pride in it. it's utterly stupid...it's not like the folks of the old times that used to poach just to eat. cause i don't know about you guys but i've never seen a recipe for deer antler...makes me sick!
