Herbicide Basics

I'm curious to hear opinions on what herbicide cocktails folks recommend for herbicide tolerant plantings, specifically corn, soybeans, clovers, etc. I'm guessing many of us mix our herbicides "X" fluid oz per gallon of water, so it would be encouraging to use that as the ratio base. For example:

Herbicide ready Corn:
4oz of 41% Glyphosate concentrate per gallon of water
2oz of 2,4-D per gallon of water
couple drops of Dawn soap

Again, this is just for example, not an actual recommended mix.

Call your local Ag Services, see what they recommend (local farmers are using) for your area.

Ex: Thistle is rare around me, but ragweed, foxtail are much more prevalent.

This is an absolute must.... mandatory starting point. Express herbicide on a per acre basis. No mix ratios. Critical. From there understand how much spray solution you are putting down at a given speed.

No mix ratios. No mix ratios. No mix ratios.

My common spring stuff (this is a PER ACRE)

Corn: 2 quarts gly, 1 pint LV6 2,4D, 2 quarts acuron, AMS

Beans: 2 quarts gly, 1 pint LV6, pre (often changes on what's available) just ran 6 Zidua XP or 24 oz prowl H20

Clover/alfalfa : grass: 16 oz cleth, crop oil. Weeds: 1.5 pints butyrac

For corn, I put down 2pt Atrazine 4 weeks ago. 10 days ago, 2qt Gly + 1qt 2,4-D + 1/2 pint MSO. planted the corn today.

I do have a BUNCH of volunteer soy beans that the farmer planted last year (and we didn’t harvest) still coming in. Must have been Gly resistant. Where we overlapped at the end of the rows, they were burnt. The rest only had curled leaves.

I want to get them out, but not sure if I sprayed 2,4D tomorrow, if the residual would impact the corn. I will likely wait until the corn is up and then hit it again with a heavier dose of 2,4D.

Anyone else have other suggestions?

Id bet 90%+ are planting enlist beans so 24d isnt going to kill them. Lil surprised they made it thru the atrazine. I've not had residual issues with 24d/corn... thats an interesting one.

Di flex or status will get rid of them if they are 24D beans , Callisto should smoke them too.

Looks like that’s zidua + cadet
We use a TON of zidua and it works great, cadet not so much. It’s not too cheap and if you have a GMO bean you will have better options. But zidua is well worth the price for sure.
