Here's a question for ya

Say you saw some nerf bars for your pick up online for a pretty good price. They say they will fit your pick up and they guy selling them is local and you talk to him a couple of time and seems cool. Look at the box and bars and everything looks good. So you go ahead and buy them from him and then notice the mounting brackets aren't for your truck. So you call the manufacturer and find out they are for a super duty truck not a light duty pickup. Then you go to the store where he had orginally purchased them and notice there is a tag missing saying they are for a super duty. After calling him and telling him he says "sorry not my problem, if you were dumb enough to buy them its your fault". I am upset with getting cheated but understand I probably should have done more research (calling the manufacturer with the model number just to double check) but here is my question. Should I out him on the site I saw the add on? What would you guys/gals do? Its not a ton of money I am out but I am in the middle of remodeling my home so every penny counts. I can probably sell them for what I have in them so I am not worried about that just wanted to hear what everyones thought on being a little vengeful. Sorry this is so long. But if anyone needs a set of polished stainless nerf bars for a 99-06 super duty Ford I can make you a deal /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Personally, I'd call him again and explain what you plan on doing if he doesn't give you a refund. If he still refuses, then I see no problem giving people on the web a breakdown of how you were cheated. No sensible business person wants bad PR. And no one deserves to be blatantly cheated. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif

If this guy actually made the sorry not my problem because you are dumb comment and knowingly sold this stuff that he knew wouldn't fit, I would tell everyone who would listen. I would not embellsih any thing but I would make sure that others knew of his lousy attitude and that all he wants to do is get your money. It is only fair to the other good people on that site to know that any thing he offers for sale is probably a crook deal as well. If you had bought something from one of the sponsors on this site and they told you the same thing would you hesitate to let the rest of us know of a less than honorable business transaction?

Fry him. With an attidude like that he isn't gonna change his mind and refund your money by threanening to out him.

DOR may have the more correct thing to do, but I really really doubt he will change his tune.

You gave him a chance to make it right and obviously he could care less so others should be made aware of that.

I know I wouldn't want to do business with someone like that... /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

Flame away, fry his ass. People that do that crap are scum. Tell everyone that you can on the site that the ad was placed, other buyers need to be warned of him.
