Actually, you have two chances to own a 200+ set of antlers. These deer were donated by a whitetail farm. I'm well aware that many on this site aren't fond of these operations, but it's a very generous donation toward a great cause whether you agree or disagree with what they're doing. We will be entering these bucks into our silent auction. The wide deer scores 201 and the narrow deer scores 229. The antlers will be on display at Fin & Feather in Iowa City. You must see them in person, because the pictures don't do them justice!

My brother put up a post about the benefit 3d shoot he was planning about a month ago, but he didn't have many details at that time. Things are coming together nicely. We're getting lots of donations for our raffle and silent auction. New items are coming in daily, so we're not exactly sure what will be part of the silent auction and what will be in the raffle. We do know that we'll be raffling off a brand new Mathew's Creed as the grand prize. We will also have a Thompson Center Triumph as the grand prize in our novelty shoot. In addition there will be a kids raffle and the grand prize is a youth Barnett Bow. All children attending will get 1 free ticket for the raffle and you have the option to buy more.

I have attached a copy of the flyer for more details. For those of you on Facebook, you can visit the benefit page at "Benefit for Payton Schultz." The page will be updated as new donations come in. If you are interested in buying raffle tickets, Fin & Feather has generously offered to help us sell them. Otherwise you can contact my brother directly. His information is on the flyer.

I also just found out about this shoot, If I can be of any assistance at all just send me a message. I live in the area and and am willing to help out any way that I can. Ill do my best to round up the troops and get as many people as I can to this shoot.

I just got confirmation today that Derek St. John and some of the other Iowa wrestlers will be doing an autograph session for us! He's the only one that I can confirm, but he's working on bringing some teammates with him. As I get more details I will be sure to pass them along.

Here are some of the prizes we have so far for the kids raffle. All kids age 13 and under that attend the benefit will receive a free raffle ticket. Additional tickets can be purchased for $1 each. The grand prize will be a Barnett Vortex Youth Compound Bow. Most of the pictures are pretty self explanatory. The mushrooms are carved out of deer antler. These are most of the prizes right now, but we are working on getting more. We also have close to 30 gift cards/certificates to give away for the kids raffle.

I thought I should point out that none of the items are set in stone as far as whether they are going to be in the kids raffle, general raffle, or silent auction. I will say that the grand prizes will not change, but some items may get shifted around a little bit as new items come in. We're trying to put some of what we feel will be the most desirable items in all three categories. Please feel free to point out if anything is unclear.

Here are some of the prizes for the general raffle. The general raffle tickets are $10 each or 20 for $100. All raffle tickets can be purchased from Fin & Feather in Iowa City, or you can contact Travis Becker at travis_becker@hotmail.com or call him at 319-430-2476. As with the kids raffle we have a large amount of gift cards/certificates (more than 60 at this time).

The grand prize for the general raffle is the Mathew's Creed, and Fin and Feather will make sure that the winner gets fitted to the right draw length.

We have two of the Delta 3d targets to give away.

We've got approximately a dozen of the PSE hats, dvd's, and decals to give away.

In addition to the two racks, here are some of the silent auction items. The banner was hanging in Carver Hawkeye Arena during the Olympic Trials and is signed by Tom Brands.

There is just one headgear. One side is autographed by Tom Brands and the other is autographed by Terry.

The gift basket includes a 6 pack of Sam Adams, a dozen Sam Adams glasses, and a $25 Scheels gift card.

The second gift basket is also a 6 pack of Sam Adams, a dozen Sam Adams glasses, a few packages of golf balls, and 2 free 18 hole rounds at Pleasant Valley golf course.

The second item is for one participant to attend the 2013 Tim Dwight football camp at Southeast Junior High School on June 12-14. This is for kids age 8-14.

As with all the mushrooms in the kids raffle, these were carved out of antler.

I wanted to pass along some new information. We will have a shooting instructor available to work with the kids. They will teach them how to shoot and stress safety as well. It's not going to be a problem if your child doesn't have a bow. The instructor will have a Genesis bow available for the kids to use.
