that doesnt surprise me. tag on the ear. tagged or not it happened before in west iowa. Had one here near my hometown. The DNR had to shoot the elk.

its nice to have deer or elk farm when you can collect the sheds!! lol
 
Where was the 5x5 shot and how long ago? I think it was 3 maybe 4 summers ago that I had a 5x5 bull hit my mineral licks and got him on trail cam. A great surprise when when we viewed the pics. This was in the Missouri River bluffs across from Tabor, IA. Later that fall a 5x5 was poached near Lincoln NE. I always wonder what happened to him. I would have loved to hear a bugle on my place:)
