I'm not sure I get it. Anyone over 65 gets an additional any sex tag for use in both gun seasons? Or anyone over 65 can use their one tag in both seasons?

Looks like one tag for both seasons.

Why? Don't understand this one at all unless it is a bill to get the door open for more legislation down the road. I sure wish there would be a "logic" or "reasons" section after the explanation section.

I bet there would be an increase in sales of 65 year olds or better.....Hey Grandpa, could you buy a tag for me.......

In just hope I am still hunting when I am 65, If I am it probably would take me both season to get it done. Heck it already does....:)

I don't get this one either. I think when granting privleges to the elderly it should be an across the board discount for all hunting and fishing activities. No extra or special season, just a generous discount and let then decide when they want to use them. They may be muzzle loaders or bow hunters for all we know. Just my thoughts.

Liv should get both gun season thought. More handycap than most. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I am not against the elderly getting some breaks on hunting fees, but this bill smells fishy to me.

Let’s say I live in South Dakota and I purchase a doe tag to hunt in Iowa. Then I go back to Iowa to hunt with grandma who still lives on the family farm. Grandma has never hunted a day in her life but I have her tag in my pocket.

Heck I might even let her sit in the heated pickup while I go shoot her nice buck for her. And after all, grandma doesn’t want the cape and rack…………

Sounds like another loophole to me! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

Am I reading the bill right????

Since Bonker and I are the same age, I'll just say I resent that remark a little. Not really; the older the buck, the stiffer the horn, right Bonks? Could this bill be to give old guys, like I ALMOST am, options to hunt a wider weather window? Or they assume 65 yr. olds can't hunt many days in a row and therefore need more days? Not sure.

Not only stiffer, but longer too.

I'm just too cynical to believe that it is as simple as givin a geezer like me a break. Remember 65 is the new 55.

Don’t forget, when you’re 20 you can’t imagine being 30. When you’re 30 you can’t imagine bein 40, when you’re 40 you can’t imagine bein 50. Now that I’m over 50 I can’t imagine getting laid like I was at 20, 30 or even 40 but I think I’ll still be able to deer hunt as well at 65 as I can today.
