and Im jacked!! Cant wait til i pull the first paper mouth threw the ice!! After last yr of no local ice, im planning on doing alot of fishing this winter! Anyone having any luck around the state on farm ponds?

what is the ice thickness around the state? I may try it this weekend but I want the ice to be at least 4" thick.

Went out the day after Christmas on a farm pond in Johnson County. We got on the ice around 12:30 and had pretty good luck. We caught maybe half dozen large mouth ranging from a few inches to 3 pounds, half dozen crappies, and a couple dozen gills. The bite was pretty steady. They wouldn't hit a still bait, so we had to jig the whole time. It slowed down about 3pm. There was 4-6" of ice. If I uploaded the pictures correctly, this is the biggest crappie my old man caught. He measured 14.5".
