Honey Bees

Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

Last Saturday afternoon I hiked into a piece of timber that I had never hunted before. I found a great looking tree with several trails funneling down to a pinch point. So I strapped my climbing sticks to the tree and hung my Lone Wolf Hang-On.

After getting settled in I immediately noticed that there were Honey Bees all around me. After a quick visual check I saw that they were going into a hole in a large tree right next to the one I was sitting in.

There were hundreds of them. As they didn’t seem to care that I was next to them I decided to stay in the stand. But I must say there were times when I had more than a dozen bees on me. The big moment was when one of them got between the lenses of my eye glasses and my face. I could just imagine trying to get down from my tree with my eyes swollen shut. This was a first for me, hope it is the last.

Bees are ok if you are not alergic to them. They are usually too busy with daily stuff to worry about you. The ones I hate are the wasps...they're mean.

I consider myself very good at catching flies in mid air and I was being pestered by one while I was talking to a friend of mine. With out looking I snatched the pestering little fly right out of mid air.......but I come to find out that it wasn't a fly but a Honey bee who really didn't like the idea of me squeezing him and let me know by stinging the heck outta the palm of my hand. This lead to a nice swollen welt on the inside of my palm and was real irriating when I put my release on. I decided to identify my target before catching the next flying insect.
