Hoyt Vipertec or Bowtech? Buying this week!!

Hello all,
I am buying a new bow this week (or as soon as I make a decision)! I shot some Mathews bows this week and wasn't really that taken by them. I just shot Parker Pheonix 32 and 34 and an '05 Hoyt Vipertec today. I shot the Hoyt first and was blown away, then shot the same four arrows with the Parker and handed it back. Couldn't wait to get the Hoyt back in my hands! That is as "dead in the hand" as any bow I've ever shot. I would like to shoot the Bowtech Mighty Mite VFT and the Patriot VFT, but have to drive to Des Moines for those. Does anyone have input as to what to expect in difference between the Hoyt and the bowtechs? Also any Vipertec shooters, what kind of arrow velocity are you getting? I didn't have a chrono, but the Hoyt seemed fairly quick.
thanks guys, Hopefully my next post will be gloating about a new bow!!

Make the drive to DM. I shot the Patriot and it's awesome. But, in the end you have to go with the one that just feels right IMO.

I have shot the Patriot and it was probably one of the fastest bows I have shot. Also shot the vipertec and liked it so I think you will find difference in them but good luck.Shooting them is half the fun....

If I buy both I'll be looking for a place to live! My wife will kill me!

I think I'd try the new Equilizer cam in the Defender. Comparible speeds with 10lb heavier bows. The Infinity cam on the MM ant Pat is a smoker but a pretty aggressive cam. Try this......shoot all of them without looking at the name/model....go with the one that leaves you saying "yaaaaa"

This is the deal he's offering

The deal I can get on the Vipertec seems almost too good to pass up. It's his '05 set up with NAP fall away rest, Kwikee quiver, Hoyt (Toxonics) tooless sight, NAP Shotblocker stabilizer, peep, loop, leeches, wrist sling and full warranty for $625. I think I can get him to throw in an old Browning recurve too!
Am I going to find a deal like that on a Bowtech?
John
I think I hear the Vipertec calling my name!

TRX, what'd ya like/dislike about each?

Can you elaborate on the two? Besides the Patriot being fast, what else did you like about it. What did you like about the Vipertec?
thanks!!

Re: TRX, what'd ya like/dislike about each?

As many have stated, shoot them both and decide on which one makes you happiest. I'm a Hoyt guy for now. I do like Bowtechs but not the Patriot. I hated the handles and the axle to axle was too long for what I wanted. I also thought they were a bit on the loud side and heavy to boot.

I'm shooting the Hoyt RazorTEC and to this day when I shoot the thing I love it. Have never shot the Viper but from what I've seen it's quite similar. As far as the deal you mentioned earlier, that is a really good one, I doubt you'll find a Bowtech set up like that for that price.

Good Luck.

Re: TRX, what'd ya like/dislike about each?

sounds to me like you already have your answer. Hoyt's warranty is not transferable.

Made my choice today!!

Well, I made my decision today. I went with the Vipertec. In the end it came down to a couple of things. One, if I buy a used bow with no warranty I'm taking a risk. Two, if I buy a Bowtech and need service/repair in a hurry I've got a long drive to get it or I have to ask the proshops here (that I didn't buy from) to fix it. Three, I did not have one thing on the Hoyt that made me think, "If only it had this" or "I like it, but..." I simply loved the feel and the balance and the silence of it. Don't need to keep looking!
Thank you all for your replies to my two posts, I really respect this site and the members opinions.
Hey, I just realized I can finally get in on the "My Hoyt can beat up your Mathews" arguments!
