Hunting boots

I remember this coming up before but i cant find it. What is the best overall insulated rubber hunting boot? I bought a pair of 110 dollar Ducks Unlimited Hunting boots last year. Probably used them 8-10 times and the sides started unsealing and getting my feet wet. Nothing worse than hunting with wet feet. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

Just got on Cabela's and checked out the comments about the Lacrosse Burlys. So i broke down and ordered the LaCrosse AlphaBurly® Sport 1,000-gram Rubber Boots. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Thanks for the suggestion. Looks and sounds like they are the best you can get.

How do their sizes run ? I take a 9 1/2 Scheels didn't have half sizes .Had a 10 and they were too tight ,were out of 11s. Liked the boot.

How about the boot blanket?? I was going to order 1,000gr alpha LaCrosse...but thought about going lighter and just getting the boot blanket to go with them...anyone sold on them or are they garbage?

Boot blankets= kind of a hassle but combined with a Hot Hands disposable hand warmer will allow you to hunt much longer on those cold days.

I have a pair of boot blankets I have used for atleast 20 yrs. I use them late bowseason when the Lacrosse Ice Kings are to bulky for getting into the stand. You know they are old because they are the WWII pattern.

Not sure of what teh sizes were. But i do know there was alot of comments about the sizes running small. But ive found most boots to run small. I wear a size 12 1\2 -13 so i ordered 14. They go up to size 15.

I don't know how the new ones are, but mine have straps at the top with snaps. I fed the strap thru one and then snapped around my backpack strap or my sling. I used them many times down in your neck of the woods windwalker, back in the day.

Back in the day /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif One thing with the boot blankets with frost on a stand in mornings they will be slick. A good idea with them is some type of non slip stick strips on the bottoms. Like the ones used on steps.
