Hunting gloves

No gloves, get a handwarmer/muff. Be careful about how many grams of thinsulate it has though, mine is 800 grams and it makes my sweat if its not cold enough.

I wear really thin gloves with the trigger finger cut off but i also use a handwarmer. I think big bulky glove and bow hunting just dont mix. A handwarmer is an investment youll never regret.

I wear really think ua gloves. I also shoot a Carter thumb release and it works fine. Make sure u practice with them on a few times tho.

There was a similar thread about gloves a couple weeks ago and saw a guy mention something about if you get a muff...make sure it's wind proof. I believe the heavier gloves that I have are Gortex Manzella's?? Warmest gloves I have ever had. When it's real cold, it seems that if my hands get cold at some point...and then are able to somehow get them back from being freezing and get the functioning back, they won't get cold again. only thing I don't like about the handwarmers in the muff thing is that when you do have to take your hands out to grab your bow, or do whatever, you are bringing your really warm hands into freezing weather and they get cold SO FAST!

I agree that a muff is the way to go. The one I have has a little pocket in front for hot packs for those late season days. Although I rarely remember to bring them with me to the tree. Best part either way is you can use lightweight gloves and and keep them warm. Best of both worlds IMO.

I use a hand muff as well, but also wear a pair of thinner gloves. Got some UA gloves i like, and a pair of hot shot gloves. Both windproof.

Ive had frostbite and get very poor circulation in my hands, as well as easily lose feeling.
I could go with just the muff, but it gets bad in a hurry for me when i grab a bow.

Still also an avid user of hand warmers in the muff. Holding the pee bottle is an extra bonus too! :)

Sitka Traverse gloves are awesome!! The best I have worn. Underarmour isn't bad but I ruined the two pairs I had. The sitka are much higher quality. I can shoot my bow easily with them. When it gets really cold though a good hand muff. The cabelas mt050 with windstopper is amazing. I still wear the sitka gloves because at some point you need to take them out and hold your bow. They are still really warm though.

I do the muff and light gloves also. I was looking for a little heavier glove to throw in my pack that was waterproof. The Manzella glove looks like a good glove with good reviews. Sorry I didn't see the previous thread. Thanks for the help!

I have the Manzella Bow Rangers. They are awesome. Light, cool, and have a gap for my release (on right and left). When it gets cooler, I use wool liners with them. I picked mine up at Scheels last year, but I'm sure you can get them at lots of places.

I'm a muff guy too. The only time I will wear gloves is walking to/from the stand when it's cold. I have a fleece muff with a zipper pocket in front. It's handy to keep a warmer and cell phone in.

I have switched to a wind proof muff. My hands and feet sweat badly, then freeze. I recently tried putting antipersprint deordant on my hands and feet. oderless of course. dead downwind makes some so does other deordorants. It worked by the way. I dont even where gloves anymore. just a muff and antipersprint.

Buy some heavy thinsulate gloves cut the fingers off then wear thin shooting gloves under ,keeps fingers nimble enough for bowhunting.

I'm trying something new. I have, in the past, bought every frigin glove & mitten known to man. The MT050 from Cabelas have been some of the best glove/mitten combos I have found so far. Nothing is exceptional & most are far worse than my best option thus far.
What I'm TRYING this year is getting some liner gloves similar to the liner socks folks use in boots- same concept. I've also got some Merino wool thin gloves to wear under my MT050 mitten/gloves too. I do like my hand warming tube if it's really bad- I just have a little trouble if I'm constantly taking in/out of tube- cold & warm non stop is a pain.

CAUTION! If anyone uses the Mitten/glove combo like I do- I would not use on right hand with release. i've had several experiences (once with huge buck) where the top that pulls over fingers will accidentally trigger release- somehow hits trigger when drawing back. Happened many times. I will not wear on right hand with release anymore.

I just bought a pair from bass pro. They are cold weather scentlok archery gloves. They strap right on over top of your release. Index finger also can flip back and hold with magnet when shooting. So far nice and warm and work great. Not all too expensive either.
