Hunting Literature

I just thought I would open this post for anyone who would like to recommend any of their favorite pieces of hunting literature.

I have 2 of the Fred Bear books. Trailing a Bear and Fred Bear's field notes. Excellent books if you like short hunting stories. It is almost like a hunting diary of some of his most famous hunts.

Last year I read Mountain Man, you know the book version of Jeremiah Johnson! I got so into it it cost me a buck!!

It is one of my all time favorites!!

The Fred Bear books are awesome. I would also recommend Chuck Adams' two books, and anything by Jim Corbett. If you like adventure, Jim Corbett's job was to hunt down man-eating tigers and leopards back in the early parts of the last century. The guy had nerves of steel and his books will really hook you.

JAy MAssey has some great books for stories. I always enjoyed Gene Wensels books. If you havent read hunting rutting whitetails I would highly reccomend it.

For stickbow shooters, I would read G. Fred Asbells Instinctive shooting.

I have 4 books by Gene Hill. He leans to the upland and waterfowl side of things, but that was my hunting roots so I really enjoy his stuff. But he also covers a wide range of odds and ends. If some of his dog stories don't make your eyes water you ain't got a pulse.
