I know I should let this one go another year, but....

SCOFFIN

Miles Coffin
Everytime I see a pic or video of him, it makes it tougher and tougher.. I should just avoid this stand.. Ya, that's the ticket..

Last 3 weeks, he's been a regular on this cam..

Thoughts???

As long as your happy with him, who cares what you shoot!! I would shoot him without doubt this late in the year. Nothing wrong with a 140+ 9 pt.

Man if your happy with him shoot him. Anymore people put to high of expectation on themselves. From what I can tell from the pic he looks to be mature but probably not score very high hard to tell from that pic though

If you've waited and debated this long, you won't be happy with him. You'll be settling for him, then telling yourself you should have waited. I hate that "this late in the season mentality." If you wouldn't shoot him early, why shoot him now when he might make it another year, and be a regular on that camera when you'd love to shoot him!

I'm lookin at him for shotgun season. Archery tag has been filled for about a month now. He just looks to be one of those bucks that will get a lot of tine mass along with the mainbeam mass. He's got the width down and hopefully he would get taller too. I'd be happy with him now for sure. Basically just having my eyes double checked on this one.. the video does him more justice than the pic..

Hunt public land for 10 seasons in a row and this late in the season mentality will wear down on you. You can only pass so many 140, 150 inch deer before you start to wonder if maybe these are the top end bucks for the public land when you don't see anything bigger. If you hunt private land where he has a chance to live, let him walk and shoot something bigger.

That is a tough call...looks like a nice buck. Prly a gametime decision. Rule of thumb...don't shoot anything that you will regret a week or month later. I have to remind myself of that once in awhile.

1. If you have to talk yourself into shooting him, than don't.......
2. I agree with the late season mentality theory. I dislike it as well, why fill a tag just to fill a tag? If you wouldn't have killed him on October 1st, than why kill him now?
3. He looks like he has potential to blow into a stud. He is a regular on your place right now, he'll be there next year.

Go pick up his sheds this winter, than you'll have the best of both worlds :way:
