I love Iowa.

Well it's over. I harvested my last doe of the season today. Now I have to wait til turkey season. I was able to harvest 6 deer this year. 2 does in a park hunt with a bow. 1 buck (spike) with a muzzleloader (Early Season). 2 does during regular bow season and today's doe (late antlerless)with a shotgun. I still had to eat two tags. I love Iowa. I just got through cleaning the deer. My back hurts and yet I feel good all over. Quite a season. By the way if you hang em outside overnight they're too frozen to cut up the next day. I learned that the hard way. Yesterday my wife and I saw a 140 class buck dying in a filed which had been hit by a car. The DNR gave us a salvage tag. I got him home strung him up and went out to process him this morning, hard as a rock, completely frozen.

What a wonderful season. God bless all y'all.

Sounds like you had a wonderful year. Many times just a visit to the tree stand for an afternoon sit is better medicine for this fast paced world than any doctor could prescribe. Enjoy every opportunity outdoors and glad to have you here.

Welcome to the site pastorpotluck. Congrats on a great year whitetail hunting! Best of luck in the future also.

But only by request. As far as this being heaven. If earth can be this good with a pink sunrise on a snow covered field, deer walking down the edge, wind in your face, and heaven is better, then words certainly can't describe how wonderful it'll be. Until then I'll gladly settle for what we have here in Iowa. Thanks to all for the wonderful welcome.

Welcome to the site Pastor. I've cut up a few frozen deer before, not a lot of fun with your hands frozen.
