I to totally disagree with the auctioning of deer on ebay. But what are your thoughts on hunting pheasants, that are pen raised, on a preserve. In my area in eastern Iowa, the pheasant population has been very low the past 10 years. Most times out we are lucky to see a bird let alone kill one. I take my lab to a preserve once a year to keep him in shape, and it works wonderfully. Do you think it's right to support these hunting preserves.

No. I for one have never had much respect for these bird preserves either. I've seen it first hand, where guys have to actually kick the bird to get a flush. When the birds are walking in front of you like barn yard roosters, that's not hunting! From the first day my dad took me hunting, it has always been fair chase for wild free ranging animals. I will never hunt a preserve or any pen raised animal. Now if you are just taking your dog to these preserves to work him or her to prepare for the upcoming season, that's fine. But, to actually kill a pen raised bird and to call it "hunting". I don't think so!
