If we have "mega-droughts" - we will have to react with tag allocation reductions. Those years can really do immense damage to deer herds. Hope it doesn't happen but from last 2 droughts- the dnr really doesn't have a reactionary plan in place and it really needs too. I'm optimistic about the future and it would be a shame to see the die offs again. Hope it doesn't happen anytime soon.

I know I talk alot about droughts but right now alot of the land just west of Iowa all the way to the Pacific is in some form of Drought.
A lot of the CNN article is political. We just came off of the largest crop year in the history of the USA. I have never seen grass grow as much as it did last year. Now 2012 was one of the worst droughts I have seen.
I don't put much faith in long term predictions. Sun scientists seem to get things right more than meteorologists in year ahead predictions.
