IARob's buck

Jamison1

The Robinhood
Its not a monster compared to most of what Ive seen here but had to seize the opportunity. My arrow hit the heart at about 5 yards. He ran 50-60 yards and dropped. Beside that, its my first kill with my bow (Yes, an old bow, but still shoots nice) so I wanted to share it with you all-

First bow kill? That is awesome...that's a deer I'd be proud of my entire hunting career. Old bows work too!! All the new gadgets just add frustration to what started out as a rather "simple" sport many years ago. Nice buck, congrats man.

Great first bowkill and I mean GREAT. If my eyes don't lie that looks like an old PSE, possibly a Polaris ?? I took two of my three P&Y's with one of those bows. I inherited that bow from my father-in-law who is responsible for starting me down this path of addiction and occasional insanity.

Dang, thanks for all the compliments!
Brent, you are close; its a PSE Lightning Flite.

Everyone, the story on this deer is kinda neat to me. One week ago, this same buck was about 80 yards downwind of me actually standing on his hind legs trying to smell the estrous leaves I had hung up in a tree between me and him. Then about 4 nights ago I watched this buck and another similar size buck pushing each other around for about 10 minutes near a scrape about 60 yards away but would never come close. Then on the morning I got him: I was in the tree just before 6am. A larger buck came right under me but it was dark yet, couldn't see my pins. That buck eventually busted me and blew air like a clydsdale and took off. About 20 minutes after that, this buck came under me and acutually stared at me at full draw for 10-12 seconds, and then just started walking when I hit him.

Thanks again for the kind words!
